The Global Training Initiative (GTI) at NC State University offers a variety of courses, workshops and co-curricular programs for students who want to increase their global cultural competency. GTI is part of the university’s Office of Global Engagement.

Our programs aim to empower students for a lifetime of global success and impact. We make sure they demonstrate the awareness, attitude, knowledge, and skills required to equitably engage and include people from different local and global cultures.

Summer Academic Camps

Immersion programs are hosted on the NC State campus for overseas students from our partner institutions.

Online Certificate Programs

Courses are taught by GTI-affiliate faculty throughout the year to NC State and overseas students from our partner institutions.

GEARS Certification

Participants dive deep into research skills while exploring research topics relevant to programs at their home institution.

3+2 Master’s Program

Students from select partner institutions may be selected for a 3+2 program.

Undergrad Certificate Program

Overseas students take classes for a semester at NC State that can count towards their degree.

Custom Programs

The GTI develops custom short-term programs for student groups from key partner universities.

SKEMA Partnership

NC State’s Centennial Campus has been home to SKEMA Business School’s study abroad site in the United States for more than a decade. The GTI team helps integrate SKEMA students into the greater NC State and Triangle community.

More than 5,000 SKEMA students have come to study at their U.S. campus in the last 10 years. There can be anywhere between 250-600 SKEMA students studying in Raleigh each semester.
