Our programs span all topics and time zones.

Empowering Africa’s Future Leaders

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

In addition to the training programs listed on this site, we have developed and delivered many other custom programs requested by clients.

No. Most GTI training programs, short-courses, and workshops are currently based on a cohort or group model that is customized for a particular sponsor or employer. Individuals who are aware of a training need in their company or agency are encouraged to have their manager, HR representative, or director level leader get in touch with us to discuss any training needs or ideas.

Each GTI course or training program is customized depending on the course objectives, meeting frequency, number of weeks, size of the group, and other program particulars. The GTI Training Program Coordinator will negotiate the overall cost of the course with the sponsor or employer.

No. For most courses and training programs the employer or sponsor pays the full costs of the course, although for some programs individual participants may share in some costs. As a public, non-profit educational institution, we strive to keep the program costs as low as possible.

No. Although the GTI does offer other courses and programs that offer academic credit and a university transcript, most professional training programs do not offer academic credit. Certificates and micro-credentialing available are available for program participants who successfully complete a training program. Participation in a non-credit training program with the GTI does not imply or guarantee admission to a degree program at NC State University.

Online courses and workshops do not require (or qualify for) a U.S. visa, but the GTI does assist with necessary documentation for an appropriate U.S. visa for programs offered on the NC State University campus when possible and if necessary.

The first thing is to connect with a GTI Training Program Developer to discuss your training needs and ideas. We will clarify with you the educational objectives and desired outcomes, possible formats (online, hybrid, onsite, or on our campus in North Carolina), your budget and timeframe, and other group particulars. We will provide a draft proposal, budget, and calendar for your review then proceed from there. You can email us at gti@ncsu.edu to set up an online meeting.

We have a large network of academic faculty and professional trainers not only at NC State University but across the state of North Carolina. Please email us to set up a free online consultation.
