Advanced Research Duo Track

Pair up with top-tier university faculty for a 10-week intensive research experience.

Application Window: July 24 – August 31, 2026

Advanced Research Workshops: September 15 – December 2, 2026 (10 weekly research sessions scheduled on weekday evenings to accommodate both student and faculty availability)

Program Cost: $3300 (plus $500 discount for GTI Online High School Research Academy alumni)

Elevate your research from fundamental theory to professional conference presentations and/or manuscript development. Our highly selective Advanced Research Duo Track pairs you and one peer with a distinguished university professor. Together, you will tackle complex problems in high-growth STEM and business fields.

Program Outcomes

  • Data Mastery: Collect and prepare professional-grade datasets for analysis.
  • Academic Deliverable: Completion of a high-quality Research Report or Academic Poster ready for competition or university portfolio submission.
  • Future Submission Roadmap: Guidance on targeting professional conferences or youth research journals.
  • Faculty Reference: Opportunity for a letter of recommendation based on performance
  • Official Certificate: Certificate of completion from NC State’s Global Training Initiative.

Ready to Join?

  • Weekly Commitment
    • 1 Hour: Live synchronous Research Coaching via Zoom with your Faculty Mentor
    • 5–10 Hours: Independent research, data collection/preparation, and manuscript drafting
  • Admission Requirements
    • Grade 11 and above (high school juniors and seniors)
    • Official academic transcript
    • Previous research experience: proof of fundamental training or prior academic report/poster
    • Selection Interview: Mandatory technical interview with the faculty mentor
    • English Proficiency (international applicants): TOEFL iBT 85 or TOEFL 4.5; IELTS 6.5; Duolingo 100
