Overview

This course introduces English language teachers to research-based principles of game-enhanced learning and their impact on motivation, engagement, and long-term retention of language skills. Participants explore practical game-based strategies for developing vocabulary, speaking, grammar, reading, and writing skills across proficiency levels using both low-tech (no-tech) and digital tools. The course emphasizes communicative, low-anxiety learning through board games, card games, task-based activities, scavenger hunts, and technology-enhanced platforms. By the end of the course, teachers will be equipped to intentionally integrate games into lesson planning to support language objectives, meaningful assessment, and purposeful classroom instruction.
