Want to build your own racing drone?
GTI hosted the 2018 Racing Drone Camp last June at NC State with students from NC State, North Carolina Central University, University of California – Davis, Penn State University, Texas A&M University, and Worcester Polytechnic.
The GTI is partnering with NC State’s Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering faculty and staff to offer a racing drone camp for overseas students. Participants will get to design and build their own racing drone. Students have the option of staying on the NC State campus during the camp and participating in cultural activities and excursions. All participants can take their drones home with them at the end of the program.
Students can participate in one or two week programs:
- One week camps include instruction on building, flying and repairing racing drones
- Two week camps will also provide a series of academic modules on various flight theory and engineering topics
These camps can also be adapted or incorporated into longer programs focusing on topics such as English as a Secondary Language, math, engineering, leadership training and cross-cultural communication.
