Shiori spent this past Saturday immersed in one of our favorite Wolfpack Welcome Week traditions: Packapalooza. This big street party involved tens of thousands of people enjoying tasty foods, live music, and interacting with returning students, new students, university staff, and the local community.
Here are her thoughts on the sights, sounds, and smells of the weekend:
“I enjoyed the welcoming atmosphere of community and made new friends at the festival. Also, as a part of festival, we had an international zone where international student organizations had their own booths to display their culture, and a parade where international students carried national flags with pride. I, as a representative of Japan, carried my country’s flag wearing a traditional Japanese summer outfit “Yukata.” I was so proud to be a part of the great festival. Good start for new semester!”
