CENet Cookout hosts hundreds

panoramic queueA huge success! Alexander Global Village and Cultural Exchange Network worked together to host a Wolfpack Welcome Week event that attracted hundreds of NC State students. On Thursday night, the grill fired up at 6:30 in anticipation of a huge #NCStateWWW crowd. Students from Global Village and CENet worked together to grill veggie burgers, hot dogs and hamburgers for 400 attendees.

@NCStateGlobal is hosting a #CENetCookout Instagram photo contest through Monday, 8/22 at noon. Post your pics from the event for the chance to win $25 to the NC State Bookstore.

Although the lines were long, students chatted with new and old friends in the Thunderdome, the grassy area between Alexander and Turlington Halls. Students finishing a Carmichael workout or walking across Wolf Plaza joined in the fun when they saw corn hole, hula hoops, frisbee and burgers. Many students hung out in the Thunderdome long after the last plate was served around 9:30.

The Global Colors Shack crew even took the cookout as an opportunity to raise some funds–providing attendees with the option to tie-dye a t-shirt in exchange for a $5 donation.
